Creativity is Chaotic

Hearts & Stars Art was founded in 2019 by Ellen Catherine to exhibit the creativity of her chaos. She paints vivid colors in abstract displays of emotions. She weaves muted colors of soft fibers in and out and around glistening metal and rugged wood. She captures the light behind her own twisted form with a front-facing camera. All mediums are open for experimentation and all curious whims are to be explored.

The Fabric of Space

A series of multimedia starscapes inspired by images from NASA's deep space telescopes as well as the curious draw for astrological meaning in life. The layers of beads and stitching on layers of fabric on layers of paint on canvas of the various sizes of artwork mirror the layered and scattered elements that combine to create our expanding universe and ourselves.

Ellen Catherine is the sparkling spirit fueling Hearts & Stars Art, a digital exhibition of the chaotic creative process. She is currently working with fibers and reigniting her passion for photography, exploring themes of feminism and the natural world.

About the Artist

She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Park University and is an active member of the Kansas City arts community.

A lover of adventures, she often finds inspiration driving across the country, swimming in the ocean, and soaking up the environment swirling around her.
